Solar Power Facts
  • Solar Power is generated by free energy from the sun.
  • With a PV system, there are no moving parts to break. As such, the system requires very minimal maintenance. Most times, you won't even realize it's there.
  • PV cells and panels are completely quiet.
  • PV systems are devoid of exhaust.
  • The raw materials used to make up a solar panel are free from petroleum!
  • Once installed, PV systems are free from environmental impact.
  • PV systems give electrical access that would, otherwise, be impossible in difficult-to-reach and/or remote areas.
  • You are able to have electricity even though everyone else in your area is experiencing a blackout from the utility company.
  • Rebates/Incentives are available from Federal and State governments.
  • We can purchase your excess electricity from you, creating a stream of income for you.
More Facts:
  • Silicon is the second most common element in the earth’s crust (after oxygen).
  • Silica, is used to make computer chips and is the main component in beach sand.
  • Most of the silica used today is actually a by-product of the mining industry.
  • A new method, called the "FFC Cambridge Process", can potentially produce solar grade silicon avoiding any CO2 emissions with much less overall energy expended.
  • The EPA tells us that if one million homeowners decided to switch to solar power completely, it would be the equivalent of taking 850,000 cars off the road. To be exact, it would reduce CO2 emissions by 8.6 billion pounds per year.
  • The U.S. has a sizeable PV industry in place, already. By increasing this industry, domestic jobs are created which, in turn, strengthens our economy and reduces our trade deficit.
  • Furthermore, the PV industry creates approximately 3,000 jobs per $100 million in PV panel sales.
  • Already, companies and agencies have been looking ahead toward recycling old solar panels and arrays that need replacing. The need for this, right now, is quite small. However by planning ahead, PV technology can continue to be extremely environmentally friendly.
