Solar Heaters for Swimming Pools

As many who've installed a swimming pool have come to understand, utilizing the heater can lead to utility bills that jump up to an extra $500 (or even more) per month just for warming the pool.  This is an enormous amount, and it is not surprising to see solar heaters installed for swimming pools cropping up all over.  Even Florida (where temperatures tend run much warmer an average than here in Georgia) has seen a high percentage of swimming pool owners make this purchase.

Why have these types of heaters made such a huge dent in the marketplace as a whole?
  • They are cost competitive with gas or electric heaters installations.
  • They have low yearly operating costs.
  • They save your monthly bill and end up paying for themselves in a short period of time.
  • They reduce environmental emissions.

The image below demonstrates how a system such as this generally works.  Naturally, every effort to make the system visually appealing to the home owner (and your HOA, if applicable) is made.  Keep in mind that the image below is merely a guide and not a literal translation of what your installation would look like.
