Decatur Touch A Truck

Come see the Solar Trailer and one of our isntall vans at Decatur's Touch a Truck!  

Touch A Truck is Saturday, May 5, 2018; 10 am - 1 pm

Location: East Lake MARTA Transit station, north lot

Children of all ages are invited to touch, explore and see their favorite truck or equipment on wheels. Vehicles from the City of Decatur and DeKalb County will be on display. 

Bike Registration!  Ride your bike to the event and have it registered by the  City of Decatur Police. The serial number and description help Decatur Police identify the owners of bikes they retrieve that have been lost or stolen.

Food Drive!  Please bring a canned or non-perishable food item in celebration of National Nutrition Month. Decatur Active Living and Decatur Firefighters will be collecting food to "Feed the Hungry."

School Bus Safety!  A City of Decatur school bus will be on display. Learn how to stay safe on the bus.

We will have the solar trailer up and operational powering multiple booths around us and will have plenty of power for you to get a quick charge on your phone while talking with our amazing team! Cobb EMC Solar Energy Seminar

Attend our free Solar Energy Seminar Thursday, August 10 at the Cobb County Safety Village.

  • Guest speakers will answer commonly asked questions about residential solar energy and discuss our Cooperative Solar program.
  • Members will learn how solar energy systems work and hear information on the solar industry, current trends and opportunities for homeowners.
  • Weather permitting, we will tour the Safety Village, enjoy refreshments and see the small-scale Cobb EMC building, where you can learn about electrical safety and view our new solar power generating station. The 1 kW photovoltaic system is part of the Sun Power for Schools program offered by Green Power EMC.

During the seminar, light refreshments will be served and door prizes will be awarded. Space is limited. Registration is required, and seats are given on a first-come, first-served basis.
